Dear Readers,

We are after two from three “climate commercials” that were published on different media sources by Polish Ministry of Environment during <a href="http://www.cop15copenhagen.com/2009/02/14/cop-14-poznan/ "target="_blank title="COP14 climate conference"> COP14 conference in Poznań in December 2008. We saw <a href="http://www.thegreenenergy.net/2009/06/06/enviornment-ministry-commercials/"target="_blank title="electricity saving advertisement">water saving advertisement and <a href="http://www.thegreenenergy.net/2009/06/28/energy-saving-commercial-ministry-environment-poland/"target="_blank title="electricity saving ad">electricity saving ad. Now it’s time for transport fuel saving that is probably the best from all the poor commercials we saw. However all published clips can’t be described as a brilliant productions but the obtained quite huge attention in Polish press and TV so it should be treated as success but I don’t think people are behaving in a more “energy-water-transport fuel saving” way. Below you can find the last commercial.

First commercial (water) was a sexual one, second (electricity) a horror clip, third one is a thriller/suspicion movie. The girl in the window is watching a man standing on the pavement. Suddenly the car with a lady as a driver comes and picks up they guy. We can assume that the woman in the window is his wife/girlfriend and the lady is a colleague from the work. Generally it’s an example of so-called car-pool so when you are using one car instead of two (or more) when you are going to the same direction (in this situation it’s probably work).

As usual a small translation of Polish content in the commercial: “Mariolka (Polish name) is jealous because Stefan (Polish name) is reducing <a href="http://www.cap-and-trade.eu/"target="_blank title="emission trading">greenhouse gases emissions commuting with a neighbour. And you? What did you do today for environment”. And of course last scene presents the <a href="http://www.cop15copenhagen.com/2009/02/14/cop-14-poznan/ "target="_blank" title="COP14 conference">COP14 conference logo and the statement: “Poland – climate for changes”.

I really support the idea of car-pool and other fuel-saving activities. However the car in the ad looks as an almost old-timer so I have doubts if it’s very ecological solutions.

Regards,
Anthony
